Hello, I am Jean Ann Honig and I am an accessible travel advocate. I help people with Celiac Disease and Gluten-Intolerance enjoy the flavors of the destinations they visit.
I founded the Gluten-Free Travel Group from my desire to help my community explore the world and dine safely.
Having Celiac Disease myself, I understand the difference between “gluten-free” food, and food that is medically safe for us to eat. I share my clients’ concerns about ingredients, preparation, and the effects of accidental cross-contamination. Food is an entrée into a region’s culture. In my travels since being diagnosed with CD, I’ve come to realize how much of the local experience we are missing.
Using the knowledge and contacts I’ve earned in my 20 years as a travel advisor, I design trips with culinary activities customized for our dietary needs. Our escorted vacations allow our gluten-free guests to travel more confidently, while limiting the stress many of us feel when dining in new social settings.
